The Ballarat Cricket Association facilitates cricket competitions and programs for a broad section of the surrounding community. We facilitate cricket for over 3000 participants across 5 municipalities surrounding the Ballarat area.

In 2015 the BCA made an unprecedented move by combining the 2 major competitions under its umbrella and creating new competitions that catered for the new age of cricket. With dedicated shorter format Senior grades this move has seen the ability for more players to stay in the game and have the flexibility that life in this day and age requires.

Junior cricket in Ballarat has all ages an abilities covered with a mixture of staged/ability competitions and aged based competitions. In 2016 we undertook extensive consultation and research with the development of Junior female programs tailored specifically for girls to enter into and continue in the sport within a comfortable and inviting environment.

While not directly within the BCA structure, the Association assisted with the facilitation of an open age female Club in 2018 now known as the Ballarat Women's Cricket Club. This venture was hugely successful and provides further opportunities for the young, and young at heart, female cricketer to be involved in the game.

Our Head Quarters are located at the iconic Eastern Oval, a venue with a long history in the Ballarat sporting community. It plays host to our local premier grade matches and finals, representative, state level matches and has hosted international cricket matches from World Cup to international tour matches.

The facilities at the Eastern are now Tier 2 International standard and saw the first WBBL premiership fixtured match played on December 9, 2018. This was the beginning of a strong relationship with the Melbourne Renegades. In recent times Ballarat has hosted under age national championships and is a highly favoured regional location for all level nation cricket tournaments, such are the quality of our facilities and support of local Council.

The BCA continues to strive to be a leader of the sport in regional Victoria. Our local members are passionate about the game and always willing to lend a hand to get the job done.
